
Designing an Intimate Experience: The Vision Behind Press Club
Nestled beneath the streets of D.C., Press Club is a nostalgic underground hideaway where cocktails and vinyl come together in a cozy, intimate setting. Designed by Matt Kelly of Make Design Studios, with Behind Bars providing the custom bar station, the space reflects a blend of timeless design and personal inspiration, capturing the essence of both East Coast mixology and musical nostalgia. Ambassaden Project (Oslo)
Ambassaden, a transformed venue in Oslo's iconic former US Embassy, is a fusion of historic design and modern functionality. Behind Bars played a key role in this transformation by designing and delivering 5 custom bar stations across 3 unique venues. From a rooftop bar with sweeping views to an open-concept wine and kitchen area, each bar solution was crafted to support the venue's dynamic range of offerings, including coffee, cocktails, and dining. Working closely with interior architects Paulsen & Nielsen, Behind Bars ensured each station blended seamlessly with the venue’s distinct style while meeting the practical needs of both staff and guests.

SOMA 2.0 Canary Wharf / Bespoke Collaboration
SOMA Canary Wharf, the second iteration of the acclaimed SOMA bar concept, brings a bold new perspective to London’s financial district. Conceived by Kricket co-founders Rik Campbell and Will Bowlby, this speakeasy-style cocktail bar marries the minimalist industrial aesthetic of Cake Architecture with the vibrant spirit of Indian-inspired flavors.
